Ariana Grande attended an event in Singapore for the international launch of Wicked: For Good

Passionate supporters of the actress are demanding that a man who jumped a barricade and grabbed the actress during the recent Wicked: For Good launch be arrested or removed from Singapore.

A circulating video reveals the person identified as Johnson Wen shoving aside camera operators and charging at Grande while the actors proceeded down a yellow carpet surrounded by onlookers.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo promptly guided the shocked actress away from Mr Wen, who was observed being led away of the gathering by event staff.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram recently that he was "let go after being arrested", though court documents revealed that he was scheduled to appear on the next day. It is uncertain if he was faced legal action.

Pattern of Disruptions

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Troll Most Hated", has invaded a celebrity gathering. His Instagram profile includes recordings of him disrupting other celebrity events, including jumping on stage at the pop singer's Sydney show in June this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers concert in the same location last year.

"There needs to be action taken against him as this is obviously a criminal offence," wrote an Instagram commenter, in a reply to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his behavior.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" a different Instagram user remarked.

Supporters Voice Worry Over Grande's Past Trauma

Many followers blamed Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had spoken of experiencing PTSD after a suicide bomb attack at the finale of her May 2017 concert in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and wounding hundreds.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" wrote a further comment on Instagram.

A number of attendees also questioned event staff at the gathering for not being sufficiently alert; while different individuals requested digital services to ban Mr Wen's uploads.

Aftermath and Premiere Information

In videos circulating online, Grande appeared startled when she was approached by the man. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted comforting her while Mr Wen was escorted away by staff.

Grande has not issued a statement on the incident, and the remaining proceedings carried on uninterrupted.

Hundreds of Singapore attendees had queued up to see the actors of Wicked

Many of attendees had gathered in a crowd of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good international premiere in a Singapore mall, including several who had waited for as long as eight hours before it commenced.

The film, to be launched on 21 November, is the follow-up of a dual version of the well-known theatrical show Wicked, which centers on the surprising bond between two very different witches.

The production itself is a spin-off of the twentieth-century children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was decked out in a light pink sequin dress at the gathering while Erivo, who acts as the villainous character, wore a sleek black dress featuring roses.

They were alongside co-star Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the top-earning film of the previous year in the UK, and earned 10 Oscar nominations, securing a pair for best costume and artistic direction.
