Football Analyst Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's ten-match winning streak was ended by Sunderland prior to the global hiatus, but will the English top division leaders bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, against artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's latest record, Knees Up, is available on Friday.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a star of multiple charity football matches over time - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not force football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer team," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a period too.

"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our team for several seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from injury but their attack is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this fixture will be fairly close, however. The Clarets are well organised and their only home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

It suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple games - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's sole on the road victory this season came at Forest in August, when their manager Nuno was previously Forest coach.

So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers extending their streak under their manager, or the home side responding?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign began, but they have impressed a few observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their last four matches.

My son told me to get Bees forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much success on the road this term, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's team pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.

They have got lots of quality in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's display in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to back the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the close of last month.

But I am not choose that. Instead, I truly need to continue opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive results because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the sole team they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be extremely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know Sunderland are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a poor run... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard one to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but might they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
