Iranian Forces State Assault on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Regional Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed operations across the region in retaliation for a significant and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone in the area of the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any damage is unclear and the US has remained silent.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - reported they have shot down missiles in their territorial skies.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was targeting US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on Iran carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That US-Israeli operation - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on sites associated with the the regime, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to rise up against the government.
Wider Impacts
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military reported it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a several projectiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported wreckage fell on a residential area in the capital, causing some property damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
