The defender's comeback is advancing according to plan, raising possibility that the Real Madrid right-back could recover in time to face his old club Liverpool in the upcoming European encounter.

The English international sustained a muscle problem while playing against Ligue 1 side Marseille in the initial phase of the tournament on 16 September.

Alexander-Arnold had to leave the pitch in the early stages, with initial estimates suggesting a potential layoff of as long as six weeks.

Real Madrid are set to play at Liverpool on November 4 for the Champions League match—just over a month after the injury happened.

Insiders familiar with the situation indicate that the player's recovery is advancing well, and there is hope that Alexander-Arnold may make his initial return to Liverpool's stadium after signing for Real Madrid in June.

A lifelong Liverpool supporter, Alexander-Arnold previously stated that departing from the team he entered as a six-year-old academy player was the "hardest choice he's ever taken."
