The Hit Drama Confirmed for Seventh Series on the British Broadcaster

The beloved crime series AC-12 will make a comeback for its seventh season, announced by the broadcaster.

An upcoming six-part series written by the show's creator will begin filming in Northern Ireland in the coming months, as confirmed by the network.

The actress expressed excitement about the return, stating she was "thrilled" about the series' return. Adrian Dunbar added, "How wonderful it is to know that the main trio will be reuniting together soon."

The previous series wrapped up in 2021 with a finale that attracted more than 17 million viewers. Speculation about a potential return have been widespread ever since, but confirmation only arrived recently.

New Challenges for AC-12

Series seven will open with AC-12 no longer existing and renamed as the new police oversight body, as revealed by production details.

Martin Compston's character, Vicky McClure's role, and Adrian Dunbar's part continue working to tackle misconduct within the police force.

Their work "faces unprecedented challenges", and under these circumstances, these officers will take on their "most delicate case so far."

New Character and Complex Case

A new character, Det Insp Dominic Gough, described as a charismatic officer known for takedowns of organized crime, is accused of abusing his position to act as a offender.

The finale of series six brought the long-running storyline about the hunt for kingpin known as "the mysterious H" to a conclusion, and producers indicated at the moment there were no intentions for additional seasons.
